Treating Acne the Natural Way

Acne is a legitimate skin problem that begins during puberty and sometimes continues well into the adult years.

We all know what causes acne. Clogged pores, overproduction of sebum and hormonal changes are some ways those pesky pimples occur. And let’s not forget the scars. Many of us get really tempted and pop the pimple, squeezing the sebum and dead cells out. The problem is, when you do this, you’re left with new pimples and angry red scars.

So if you’ve tried everything under the sun and are wondering how to get rid of acne naturally, we’ve got some important ingredients you should use. And some great natural skin care products for acne, too.

Oil-Free Products

Go for products that are oil-free. Acne is caused by the overproduction of sebum, which is the skin’s natural oil and emollient.

Too much sebum can cause your pores to get clogged which then leads to inflammation. This inflammation manifests itself in the form of a pimple that is read, painful and protruding.

Vitamin C

One of the most important nutrients, a Vitamin C serum for acne does wonders for inflamed skin! Vitamin C is known for its anti-inflammatory effects, which helps to reduce the redness of acne.

Vitamin C is also super absorbent, meaning it helps to heal your acne from layers within your skin, and its antioxidant properties also help to inhibit melanin production. What does this mean? Lesser acne, lesser scars, and more even-toned skin! Check out one of the best serums for acne scars!

Retinol

If you’re reading this article, chances are you’re trying to find a natural way to deal with adult acne. Adult acne is the worst – it can become painful, permanent, and can also take a lot of time to fade. On top of that, the scars and pockmarks are just the worst!

Luckily, retinol face creams are here to save the day. Retinol is a kind of Vitamin A which penetrates deep into the skin and jump starts the skin regeneration process. It’s natural and safe to use when applied twice a week. It also helps to shrink pores, lessen sebum production, and also smoothen your skin texture and tone! In other words, it’s nothing short of a miracle. Get your nightly retinol moisturizer, now!

Hydrators

Look for hydrators like Hyaluronic Acid and Squalane. Hyaluronic Acid helps to retain your skin’s plumpness and moisture levels and works to stop sebum production from trying to make up for lost moisture.

Squalane, on the other hand, is also a natural moisturizer derived from plants and it doubles as a protective antioxidant, too.

Are you excited about trying these ingredients to fight that pesky acne? Let’s talk!

Haley,

Thanks for sharing. Make sure you always follow the “Direction of Use” of any new skincare product that you are using on your face.

Once I switch my skincare routine to all oil-free products my skin changed drastically. I don’t have nearly as many breakouts and I actually can go a few weeks without any acne popping up. It definitely changed the way I look at acne treatments and face wash.
