Why You Should Use a Stretch Marks Cream During Pregnancy

When it comes to stretch marks, women tend to have mixed emotions. While some happily embrace them, others experience a growing urge to get rid of them right after childbirth.Whether you decide to live with them or seek a stretch mark treatment is entirely up to you.

If you consider them to be unsightly, there is no harm in post-pregnancy treatment. However, what does matter is the kind of treatment you opt for.

After childbirth, a woman’s body takes time to heal and recover from the traumatic experience. During the healing process, it develops stretch marks on the belly, back, and thighs. In almost 9 out of 10 pregnancies, women complained about the development of stretch marks in the sixth or seventh month of their pregnancy. These pinkish or white-ish stripes occur when the elastic or collagen in your skin snaps due to the pressure of quick weight gain. The best bet for you is to get rid of these stretch marks when they’re brand new. The moment they start getting old, you will face extreme difficulties in treating them.

So, if you do want to get rid of them, it’s important to seek treatment immediately.

The longer you take, the more stubborn the stretch marks become. There are many treatments, like laser therapies, Microdermabrasion, and stretch marks lotion to help you get rid of them. However, cosmetic and surgical treatments can result in photo-sensitivity, dark skin, and in worst cases, skin abnormalities.

The safest solution is a stretch marks cream that actually works. A lotion will gradually fade away the stubborn marks without turning your skin into a vulnerable mess. The cream keeps the specific areas super-moisturized, thereby preventing marks and wrinkles. Here’s what using a cream for stretch marks during and right after pregnancy will do.

 1. Faster Healing

When you start using a cream during the last trimester, your skin will become used to the treatment. This way, it won’t take much time to respond after childbirth. Normally, when the human body receives any type of treatment, it takes around 6 weeks to reap results.

If you start the lotion treatment after childbirth, your skin will take longer to heal. It may not even recover properly because your belly will start hanging lose and your thighs will sag. Instead of post-pregnancy, using a stretch mark lotion during the trimester will allow faster healing.

2. Intense Hydration

The best stretch mark removal cream will deliver intense moisture and hydration to the problem areas. This will help accelerate the healing process and will lift up your skin. Moreover, your skin requires significant hydration during your pregnancy as it loses most of its moisture. So, a good natural stretch mark cream can deliver that exactly.

3. Prevention of Future Stretch Marks

Using the treatment during pregnancy will give you incredibly moisturized skin, thereby preventing future marks for reappearing.

However, even with creams, there is a dilemma. Finding a stretch marks cream that actually works is not an easy feat. With countless creams and lotions in the market, you never know which treatment is genuine and truly effective.

Nonetheless, there are three things that should help you decide: fast results, safety, and deep hydration. The stretch marks treatment should be non-toxic and absolutely safe for the skin and should deliver visible results.

How and When to Apply Stretch Mark Cream During Your Pregnancy?

Here are a few tips to help you get started on the application of stretch mark removal creams during pregnancy.

First Trimester

Don’t wait for too long to get started on a natural stretch mark cream. Once your test pregnancy test results and back in and positive, get started on moisturizing those areas of your body with the best natural stretch mark cream  that are most prone to stretch marks. This is because marks occur when the fibers underneath the surface of your skin start breaking due to the pressure.

Stretch mark removal creams help moisturize that area, helping your skin maintain its elasticity. This will keep your skin from tearing once your body starts expanding. Apply stretch mark removal cream on all areas even before they start appearing or become slightly prominent. Repeat this at least a few times a week.

Second Trimester

You might want to start using a stretch mark removal cream right at the beginning. However, if you still start spotting red lines despite this, you might want to proceed during the trimester to reduce these stretch marks. Just keep one thing in your mind—you have to prevent these lines from fading to white otherwise they can be extremely difficult to treat.

If your stretch marks have begun to appear, start applying a stretch mark cream every day religiously. This will help minimize any further scarring. However, you will have to be a little patient as it can take about a month to see any drastic improvements.

After the Baby Arrives

After using a stretch mark cream during your pregnancy, you can expect your marks to fade away gracefully. However, once your baby arrives, these marks may return and become prominent again. This is because such scars are often more evident on soft skin. So, you should start using a natural stretch mark removal cream that will help tighten the elastin within your skin by moisturizing it. Therefore, with time, all your pregnancy stretch marks will eventually fade into oblivion.

Stretch mark creams are most effectively used during pregnancy to reduce the appearance and development of stretch marks, which are common in areas like the abdomen, breasts, hips, and thighs. The best time to start applying these creams is early in the second trimester, when your skin begins to stretch due to the growing baby. Regular application, ideally twice daily, is key. Choose a cream rich in ingredients like cocoa butter, vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid, known for their skin-elasticizing and moisturizing properties. Gently massage the cream into your skin in a circular motion to enhance absorption and improve blood circulation. It's important to maintain this routine throughout the pregnancy and even after childbirth to ensure maximum effectiveness. Remember, while stretch mark creams can help reduce the visibility of stretch marks, they may not completely prevent them.

Why You Should Be Using the Advanced Stretch Mark Removal Cream

The #1 reason to use an advanced stretch mark removal cream is its effectiveness in significantly reducing the appearance of existing stretch marks. Advanced formulas are typically enriched with powerful ingredients like retinoids, hyaluronic acid, and various peptides, which work together to promote skin regeneration and improve elasticity. These components aid in repairing and rejuvenating the skin at a deeper level, making the stretch marks less visible over time.

Unlike basic moisturizers, these advanced creams target the root cause of stretch marks, which is the tearing of the dermis layer of the skin, by boosting collagen production and improving skin texture. Regular use of such a cream can lead to smoother, more even-toned skin, thereby enhancing skin confidence and comfort. However, it's important to note that results can vary based on skin type and the age of the stretch marks, and it's always recommended to consult with a dermatologist before starting any new skin treatment.
